Miami Heat are Expected to Have Interest to Land Donovan Mitchell

Miami Heat have shown some interest to land Donovan Mitchell. Depending on the current trade discourse leaguewide, Utah Jazz will listen to Donovan Mitchell offers.

Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted:

“The asking price appears to be steep, but in the wake of Utah’s recent Rudy Gobert blockbuster deal to Minnesota, the Jazz are no longer simply dismissing calls on Mitchell.”

According to Western Conference, the Heat made their interest in the guard Donovan Mitchell, having four years left on his deal. This isn’t surprising as Mitchell’s relationship with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo has gained speculation. Miami Heat and Donovan have had an eventual partnership over the last few years.

Mitchell averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steal each game. He holds a 44.8% shooting average from the floor, 35.5% from the 3-point range, and 85.3% from the 3-point line.

The Heat are a tax-paying club, so they would have to send out about $2 million more to reach the budget match for Mitchell ($30.3M in ’22-23), thus a two-team trade would not work with simply Herro ($5.7M), Robinson ($16.9M), and choices. First off, it’s possible to view Herro and Robinson as two divisive players who other clubs *might* not regard as highly as Miami does.

Despite Mitchell’s rumored dissatisfaction with the Jazz organization (and appropriately so!), Utah doesn’t have to sell him right away because he still has four years left on his contract.

Mitchell has New York-based family ties. As a result, the Knicks are the club that everyone should focus on. The Knicks are anticipated to put together a deal for him, according to Jazz reporter Tony Jones of The Athletic, who claims that “the Knicks are the team that has the assets to make this a conversation.”

One thing is for certain: Pat Riley and Andy Elisburg will work extremely hard to succeed. This could very well be finished, it’s not impossible. But no matter what happens, we should all be aware that anything could happen.
