A 93-83 victory over Germany in Saturday’s game allowed Bogdan Bogdanovic and Serbia to take the Olympic bronze at the 2024 Olympics. The standout player of the game was Bogdanovic who is the captain of Serbia and he scored as many as 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a game-high +/- rating of plus-23.
Bogdanovic’s Stellar Performance
In the six games that comprised the competition, Bogdanovic scored an average of 18. 3 points, 4. 0 rebounds, and 3. 8 assists. He also proved his rifling abilities in the process making of the 46. His hardworking nature in several editions not only led Serbia to victory but also made him the all-time leading scorer of the Serbian national basketball team.
A Hard-Fought Victory
Bogdanovic stated that he was happy that finally managed to clinch a bronze medal after several times being close in the international championships. ‘When you are on the podium there is only number one, number two, and number three,’ he said to the media in Paris. But on my own personal and professional level, let me tell you something that might sound strange; it is far easier to win a bronze medal than to ‘win’ a silver one even though it looks different when standing on the podium.

In recognition of the performance that took him to the top of the competition, FIBA included Bogdanovic in its All-Second Team for the 2024 season. He was among such players as Wagner, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Guerschon Yabusele. The All-Star Five lineup included Jokic, Dennis Schroder, Stephen Curry, Wemby, and LeBron James being awarded the MVP of the competition.
Serbia reached the bronze medal of the 2024 Olympics due to Bogdan Bogdanovic, not only was he the team’s leader but he also played exceptionally well throughout the tournament. That was also evidenced by his performance in the tournament which put him even stronger in the history of Serbian basketball as a celebrated figure.
