According to ESPN, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal turned down his $36.4 million player option for the upcoming season in order to sign with another team. Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, was mentioned by ESPN as the information’s source.

Beal’s ten-season stay in Washington may not necessarily come to an end with the trade. His alternatives include signing a five-year maximum contract to stay with the Wizards or becoming an unrestricted free agent and negotiating a four-year deal with another team.
Beal, a three-time All-Star who turned 29 on Tuesday, has twice had a season scoring average of more than 30 points per game. In just 40 games last year, Beal averaged 23.2 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds. His left wrist had season-ending surgery in February.
