According to one Eastern Conference executive, the Lakers this offseason may consider signing big man Blake Griffin.
Blake Griffin is set to be a free agent. He stopped playing in Brooklyn for Steve Nash, but observers still anticipate that he will be noticed as a bench player. According to an executive who spoke with Heavy’s Sean Deveney, teams interested in signing Griffin include the Bulls, Heat, Lakers, and Celtics.
Griffin, who is 33, will probably make the veteran’s minimum salary. Griffin had the worst statistical record in 2021-22 season. In 56 games last season, he had a 6.4 point and 4.1 rebound average. In the 2020–2021 season, he had a point and rebound average of 11.0 and 4.9, respectively.
Griffin understands he is no more the superstar player he used to be. He has accepted to be a veteran off the bench, which still provides him some worth as a little contributor. The former 6-time All-signing Star with a new team will be great to watch.
Griffin is a natural power forward, although he did play some center for the Nets last year. When LeBron James and Anthony Davis are off the court, Griffin can undoubtedly fit in as a capable frontcourt reserve for the Lakers. Griffin has produced 19.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game over the course of his career. He has been selected for five different All-NBA teams and has been an All-Star six times.
