Dwight David Howard II is an American professional basketball player, currently playing for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has won quite some trophies and individual awards during his career, including an NBA champion, eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Team honoree, five-time All-Defensive Team member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year.

Howard, who plays center, attended Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy in high school. He forewent college and entered the NBA draught in 2004, where he was taken first overall by the Orlando Magic. With the Magic, Howard set multiple club and league records. He led the squad to the NBA Finals in 2009.

Howard was moved to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2012 after eight seasons with the Orlando Magic. He played for the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, and Washington Wizards after a year with the Lakers. Howard rejoined the Lakers in 2019 and won his first NBA title the following year.
