The Celtics have an 80% probability of winning the NBA Finals, according to FiveThirtyEight, a website that examines politics, sports, and science problems through the prism of data. This is the highest percentage they’ve given any team this season.
DraftKings Sportsbook (-150), Caesars Sportsbook (-155), and BetMGM (-160) all list the Warriors as favourites heading into the series, despite FiveThirtyEight’s prediction.
This isn’t the first time FiveThirtyEight has predicted the Celtics as the NBA champion, as the team led their projections before to the All-Star Weekend in February.
According to FiveThirtyEight, the Celtics had a 6% chance of winning the NBA Finals entering this season, while the Warriors had a 0.1 percent chance on opening night.
