Quite a few eye brows were lifted as Kyrie Irving only played 29 games during the regular season

Former Indiana Pacers star, Jalen Rose, had to get some things off his chest, just before the Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Speaking on “NBA Countdown, the former NBA star and now a media personality for ESPN, Rose revealed that he was the sole person to vote for Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving All-NBA Third Team.

Rose then made it clear why he voted for him and why is was wrong to do so. “I get mesmerized by his talent, but it was a mistake to put him on Third Team, and I’m glad that didn’t cost (Atlanta Hawks guard) Trae Young his spot who deserves it more. So, I’m going to own that” Said Rose.

Rose certainly had a point while voting for Irving as he averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game, but he played in just 29 regular season games for the Nets, much because of his stance on the Vaccination status.

On set at FTX Arena, Stephen A. Smith, Michael Wilbon and Mike Greenberg were accompanying Jalen Rose. Stephen A. Rose, in particular, was suspicious of Rose’s Action and said he couldn’t believe that Rose would even think of voting for Irving. Some might say that A. Smith went too far by suggesting the Irving doesn’t even deserve to be “All-NBA G-League after the way he disappeared for the whole dagum season.”

However, in the midst of all this mocking, Rose defended his decision as well, saying, “In my mind this way a unique season, and based on that unique season, when Kyrie Irving decided to play for whatever reason, he was as dominant as any player in the league and he was one of the top 15 performers when he was in uniform.”
