Curry turns to LeBron for advice as he focuses on his post-basketball future. He continues to dominate on the court while planning for what’s next. Curry recently discussed his plans for life after retirement on CNBC. He mentioned that he has already started talking to another NBA superstar—LeBron James. LeBron has effectively shifted his impact off the court, serving as a model for Curry’s future.

Two of the most recognizable players in the NBA, Curry, and James, have had many special moments together throughout their careers. One such instance occurred at the 2024 Summer Olympics when the two were spotted rejoicing in Team USA’s triumph together. This picture has since come to represent their regard and friendship for one another. While it’s common for fans to wonder what these superstars talk about when they’re alone, Curry recently provided a glimpse into their discussions. He implied that their conversations now include topics beyond basketball.

As his attention has shifted to planning for his post-retirement future, Curry admitted in the interview that he has been consulting LeBron. He seeks LeBron’s guidance for this new phase of his life. “Certainly. Everything,” Curry replied when asked if he had contacted LeBron for advice on what to do with his life after basketball. “I know it’s such a great opportunity to leverage the platform of basketball, you know, doors that it opens in a lot of different ways and, you know, amplifying who we’re about in our unique ways.”

James and Curry have both had great success expanding their brands outside of the basketball court. Curry acknowledged LeBron’s skill at navigating life outside of basketball. LeBron, who will turn 40 in December 2024, has long been seen as a model for transitioning. He went from a successful sports career to becoming a significant figure in business, entertainment, and media. Curry believes he has at least “three years left” in his basketball career. For Curry, now is the perfect time to prepare for the next phase of his journey.

“I know that he has been an expert at it for a very long time, and since he is in a position where this is preparing him for life after work, we will be able to stay in this area and continue doing things like broadcasting and delving deeper into shows like Mr. Throwback, which is what we intend to do”, Curry said, “I’m excited about it all.” His remarks highlight a developing enthusiasm for both the opportunities off the court and what is to come.

Stephen Curry is happy to learn whatever he can from his peers for now, preparing for the next stage.

Curry has a clear vision for the future, ready to follow in the footsteps of those who transitioned before him. As Curry continues to perform well in the NBA, he is setting out to establish a long legacy beyond basketball. With LeBron’s guidance, Curry is sure to succeed in whatever he chooses after hoops. Though his playing days are still ahead, Curry’s post-NBA career will have an equally significant and powerful impact.
