With the help of a clip from HBO’s The Shop: Uninterrupted, LeBron James put the NBA on notice this week. In the video, the 37-year veteran acknowledged that he is still working on one of his most important post-career ambitions.
Here is what Lebron said:
“I want to own a team,” said James, who is entering his fourth season with the Lakers. “I want to buy a team for sure. I want a team in Vegas. I want the team in Vegas.”
The NBA legend’s admission, combined with his pick of Las Vegas as his fantasy site, sparked a flood of responses from those who were interested by the concept. While NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently stated that the league has no intentions to grow, James the NBA’s first-ever billionaire player has already sparked speculation about what life would be like if one of his latest fantasies comes true.
Here’s some of the best Tweet Reactions to Lebron:
LeBron’s going to get the team in Vegas and employ his children like Lawrence Stroll does with Lance in F1. https://t.co/7LTLrUpezA

LeBron joins the Warriors just to learn the secrets of their front office and ownership then applies that to a team in Vegas
Not sure where drafting Bronny fits in, but give me time.

I mean, hell, why not?
The league wants to expand to Vegas anyway, and a LeBron-owned team would be a major draw.
Expand to Vegas. Get the Sonics back in Seattle and move some midwest team to the East. https://t.co/cuMOwSBy2l

Wait a minute, doesn’t Fenway Sports Group also want to own an NBA team?
And isn’t it true LeBron’s a partner at FSG?
Think they’d decide to join forces to make this happen in Las Vegas?
Big, if true. https://t.co/81wz66MsDh— Michael Silverman (@MikeSilvermanBB) June 9, 2022
The year is 2030 and the Las Vegas Outlaws ™️ led by Bronny and Bryce James just won the NBA Finals with coach/owner @KingJames on the sidelines.

LeBron James is 37 years old, worth $1 billion-plus, a partner at Fenway Sports Group & says that he eventually wants to own a team in Las Vegas.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver says the "league invariably will expand" & Las Vegas is a top choice.
Things are starting to line up. https://t.co/26gWuqUq94
