The Warriors star Stephen Curry put a little poke at the Celtics, who they recently beat in the NBA Finals.
Stephen Curry gave his opening monologue while hosting ESPYS.
He said: “You’re never sure, coming down here, how an L.A. crowd is going to feel about you, but then I remembered we just beat the Celtics,” pausing for applause. “There’s nothing L.A. loves more than beating the Celtics, so we’re all in this together.”
Curry spotted Celtics reserve big man Grant Williams in the audience when he was dressed in a mint green outfit. Curry addressed Grant Williams:
“Grant Williams, I see you in the building! It’s great to see you again, my man! I know you like this color, I’ll let you borrow it after I’m done,” he said. “I might even let you wear a ring. We’ll see.”
Moreover, he didn’t add too much to it and introduced himself as “Proud husband of Ayesha Curry, Proud son of Dell Curry and hilariously Proud daddy of the Boston Celtics.”
Although, he smiled while poking Boston Celtics, yet managed to avoid offending anyone with his words.
Early on, Stephen Curry got the honor to host ESPYS 2022, and then the veteran took home the Best NBA Player award last night. Stephen Curry stands third in the list to win the ESPYS for Best NBA Player thrice.
