Shaquille O’Neal has always been open about expressing his thoughts, and now he is focusing on center Rudy Gobert of Minnesota Timberwolves. In an interview with Complex, Shaquille O’Neal referred to Rudy Gobert as the most inferior player in the history of the NBA, leading to a heated argument between the two tall players.

Shaq’s Sharp Critique

When questioned about his least favorite NBA player, Shaq was open and honest. O’Neal said that if you agree to a $250 million contract, then demonstrate $250 million to me. He criticized Gobert for not meeting expectations of his large contract and pointed fingers at players like him for causing disruptions in the system. Shaq emphasized that players must back up their pay with performance, despite others thinking he is hating.

Gobert’s Measured Response

Rudy Gobert replied to Shaquille O’Neal’s critical remarks with a composed and calculated message on social networking platform. Gobert expressed sadness at seeing @SHAQ still affected by another man’s financial success and achievements despite all of his own accomplishments. He recognized the amusing aspect of Shaq’s comments but suggested that Shaq didn’t have to criticize others in order to remain significant.

Shaq has targeted Gobert in the past, not just this time. At the beginning of the year, Shaq said on his podcast that even at the age of 52, he could still produce the same statistics as Gobert. “Twelve points and eight boards?” “Right now, I am capable of doing that,” O’Neal bragged.

Shaq Stirs the NBA Pot

Shaq’s frank demeanor has sparked discussions throughout the NBA, from critiquing players like Gobert to doubting coaching choices, like the Lakers bringing on JJ Redick. Although Shaq’s statements often elicit strong responses, they consistently spark discussions across the league.

However, Gobert appears determined to rise above, allowing his performance on the court to silence the criticism.
