Mitchell Wiggins, a ex-NBA player and the father of Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins, has died at 64 years old. His death was confirmed on social media by his daughter, the National Basketball Retired Players Association, and the Houston Rockets.

Mitchell Wiggins, selected as the 23rd overall pick by the Indiana Pacers, had his rights exchanged to the Chicago Bulls. He had a quick and noticeable influence in his first year as a professional player, with an average of 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. Wiggins was also instrumental in the Houston Rockets’ successful playoff run. As they were crowned champions of the Western Conference in 1986. Afterwards, he had a short stint with the Philadelphia 76ers.
