During LSU’s 81-36 victory against Northwestern State, Coach Kim Mulkey was ejected in the final minutes following a dispute with an official over a charging foul on Aneesah Morrow. This incident unfolded at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, where fans backed Mulkey’s stance and expressed dissatisfaction with the referee’s call.
In a humorous tone, Mulkey remarked, “Who knew you’d get an ovation for getting tossed?” She asserted that she left the official with “no choice” during the confrontation. Angel Reese, leading the team with 24 points and 14 rebounds, was observed restraining the coach during the intense exchange.
Recalling the event, Kim Mulkey amusingly recounted, “It was precious… Angel was grabbing me and she yelled out, ‘Kramer, come help me!’ She was calling for my son in the stands to come get me.”
Post-game, both the coach and players embraced a more relaxed atmosphere and found humor in the situation. Reese commented, “It was fun… Of course, she’s gonna fight for us, and we all fight for her. That moment was fun, and we knew we had her back and she had our back.”
