Confident Second Quarter Performance
Even though McCain got into foul trouble early in the game, he remained composed. On the contrary, he came back strong in the second quarter, scoring 10 points and making three three-pointers out of five tries. Nick Nurse, the coach of the Sixers, commended McCain’s skills in shooting, noting that he plays with intensity, is highly involved on defense, and poses a threat from beyond the arc with his rapid shooting.
Earning Respect from Teammates
Tyrese Maxey and Andre Drummond had great admiration for McCain’s performance. Maxey observed the rookie’s boldness and absence of jitters, while Drummond pointed out McCain’s preparedness to play at an NBA caliber. Drummond mentioned that he is prepared at this moment. Since the beginning, he was on top of things, like, from the start. That is not a common sight.
From College to the NBA
McCain’s path from Duke to the NBA has been characterized by perseverance. Although he faced challenges in the summer league, his display in the preseason suggests a bright future ahead. During his freshman year at Duke, he made 41.4% of his three-point shots and is gaining recognition at Philadelphia’s training camp.
Looking Ahead to the Next Game
