It was shocking to note that New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson also recently complained about not being included in the Team USA squad for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris later this year. Still, after a good past season, Brunson complained about not being part of the team.
Talking to GQ Sports, Brunson said, “The way I played last year, I thought I was deserving. I was thinking I could have been in a position to fit. Although disappointed, Brunson is not letting go of the future easily. Korir settled for fourth place and said he wants to target the next edition of the Games in Los Angeles in 2028. That’s a goal of mine. I want to play next time.”
Aiming for the 2028 Olympics
Shooting guard Jalen Brunson was the last the represent Team USA at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, which ended in the fourth position. That World Cup roster included only two players – Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton – who were chosen for the World Cup and the Olympics. Brunson agreed with this and is already praying to have another chance with Team USA in the years to come, anyway, he said that being excluded from the team is motivating him.
Tom Brady’s Bold Prediction for Brunson’s Knicks
Former NFL star Tom Brady aired a podcast that featured Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, in this discussion, Brady spoke about the future of Brunson with the Knicks team. In his post-winning speech, Brady equated winning the Super Bowl to reaching the finals of the NBA, saying, “I have a feeling you’re gonna get there.”
Brady’s comment has energized the Knicks fans who now expect Brunson to take the team to greater heights. Towns and Bridges are recent additions to the roster along with Brunson and the Knicks are aiming to make this prediction come true alongside a good playoff campaign.
