Ex-NBA player J.R. Smith and The Flash star Candice Patton are celebrating the arrival of a baby boy. Patton took to her Instagram on September 27 to announce the happy news, showing her strong affection for her new baby. Son is in the zodiac sign of Virgo. Came into the world at home. My heart is now beating externally. Patton wrote “Forever in love 💕👣,” with photos and a video, tagging Smith in the post.

A Complicated Past

While Smith and Patton rejoice in their new beginning, his personal life has been in the public eye for many years. Smith, aged 39, is currently still in a legal marriage with his spouse Shirley ‘Jewel’ Smith, whom he married in the year 2016. The pair has two kids, but their relationship came under public scrutiny in October 2019 after Shirley alleged Smith had cheated with Patton.

Shirley posted on Instagram, sharing her feelings and praying for her husband and Patton, showing the shared pain. In her post, Shirley mentioned that both her husband and Candice are in pain. Lord Father God, she said they are both hurting.

J.R. Responds

J.R. addressed the accusations by providing clarification on their situation. On his Instagram story, he announced that he and Shirley had been apart for several months, stating, “Instagram is not the right platform for relationships!!” However, God instructed me to inform you all that I have been apart for several months…

A Champion’s Legacy

J.R. Smith enjoyed a 16-year NBA career, earning two titles with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. Stepping into fatherhood once more, the ex-celebrity starts a new phase in life. Also prioritizing family as he navigates through previous obstacles.
