The Atlanta Hawks are once again missing several key players in their second preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Notably, De’Andre Hunter was absent in their preseason opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers and continues to be sidelined. Alongside Hunter, Saddiq Bey and Onyeka Okongwu are also unavailable for the Memphis matchup.
However, it’s De’Andre Hunter’s absence that is drawing the most attention. Head coach Quin Snyder revealed that the fifth-year wing is currently dealing with a “mild bone bruise.” Responding to a follow-up question, Snyder clarified that the bruise was in Hunter’s knee but assured that it was not a cause for concern. He emphasized that there’s no need to rush anything during the preseason.
This update follows Coach Quin Snyder’s previous statement that Hunter would be “ready to go” for the Memphis game.
