Chipotle is adding more fun to the NBA Finals by offering complimentary burritos. During the Dallas Mavericks versus Boston Celtics game, fans have the opportunity to receive freebies from successful free throws made by players like Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum.

Celebrating Perfect Free Throws

“This season, players have intentionally missed free throws to score freebies for their fans,” said Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s chief brand officer. “Hitting free throws on basketball’s biggest stage deserves to be celebrated, so we are flipping the script by offering free food for perfect trips to the line during the final series of the season.”

How It Works

The promotion launches at the start of Thursday night’s NBA Finals. In order to receive a complimentary burrito, a player must successfully make two uninterrupted free throws following a foul. If a player gets fouled and is given three free throws, they must successfully make all three of them.

Getting Your Free Burrito

Here’s how you can claim your free Chipotle burrito:

  1. Observe the match and anticipate a player making two back-to-back successful free throws.
  2. Chipotle will then release a code on their X (formerly Twitter) account.
  3. Text the code to 888222 to be one of the initial 500 participants.
  4. Get a free code for any regular priced menu item, such as burritos, bowls, salads, and quesadillas.

Promotion Details

  • Limit: 17,500 free codes per game (equivalent to 35 completed free throw trips).
  • Validity: The codes are valid until July 6 and can be redeemed in stores, online, or through the Chipotle app.

Free Throw Stats

The Mavericks have a free throw percentage of 72.8% in the playoffs, whereas the Celtics have a slightly lower rate of under 80% from the line. With these odds, fans have a good chance of scoring free food throughout the Finals.

So, grab your favorite spot to watch the NBA Finals, keep an eye on those free throws, and get ready to enjoy some free Chipotle burritos!
