As the 2024 NBA Finals loom on the horizon, the Boston Celtics emerge as the favored titans of the court, with their Celtics Celebrities on Fire, boasting a formidable 78% win rate and a staggering +11.7 net rating for the season. Celtics Celebrities on Fire in Post-Season Games
This young prodigy has just hit one of his climbs at the age of 27, and there is no wonder that the spotlight naturally falls upon him. He plays the ball and brooms the goals with each step he manages to overcome the detractors and establish finally his name in the trophy by winning the most sought-after award. Although his dominate success cannot be denied, Tatum’s story has been intertwined with that of his companions who, like him, were drawn to outer space by strong ambitions and became stars of equal brightness.
As an NBA rookie he shared the spotlight with guys like Kyrie Irving, Isaiah Thomas and now Kristaps Porziņģis. He is the only one who was able to sail through this formidable talent sea, whereas achieving the personal greatness level is still beyond his reach. As the highest stakes level of play mounts, the burden of anticipation smirks upon the hefty shoulders of him, requiring an execution that surpasses not even proficient.
As a pioneer of coaching, Joe Mazzulla serendipitously fits in the category of prodigies possessing the record-breaking number of seasons with a highest average winning percentage. But I don’t forget the pain of being ninth in the line to the ring of last year’s Conference Finals, when I didn’t win as an underdog in the battle with the Miami Heat. Critics, very happy to grab hold of the smallest thread of weakness, criticize whether gaining a prominence so fast will limit him and knock him back to the position of being a young talent which, one could claim, could have been better spent elsewhere.
At the same time, Jaylen Brown blossoms, and seems to be playing with a renewed energy that is showing up in every game he has played. Brown’s recent contract extension did draw a few eyebrows, but instead of sunning in his victory, he sprang to light as Dominant Twin (Tatum) archenemy centered firmly to jot his name in the history books as a Cornerstone of Celtics glory. Is he going to be a devoted friend and a team player or will he upgrade to the character of a fellow partner who is equal in status?
In the middle of all trades and acquisitions, loss characters like Marcus Smart has done a bad by the bitting fans of Boston Celtics. Jrue Holiday, the most recent signing, bears a great responsibility to fulfill older brother’s dreams as well as to prove to himself that they were worth their betrayal by showing their true value on the court.
Finally clashing with the enemy in the shallows of the playoffs, the stage is all set for an epic battle of greatness and deprivation and the best will triumph and the worst will fall and tales will be told in the lore of the NBA for years to come. The question remains: how many of them would be patient enough, and what would be the price they would pay in order to be eternalized in these legends?
