DeMar DeRozan makes NBA history and etched his name amongst NBA legends during Wednesday’s game, where the Chicago Bulls clashed with the Dallas Mavericks in Texas.
The Mavericks secured a 114-105 victory, maintaining their perfect 4-0 record, while the Bulls now stand at 2-3 after their first five games.

DeMar DeRozan made NBA history during this game by surpassing Hall of Famer Larry Bird on the all-time scoring list. He entered the evening with 21,778 career points, ranking 39th, and now sits at 38th, overtaking Bird’s 21,791 points.
The former USC standout concluded the game with 16 points, three rebounds, seven assists, and one steal, shooting 5/13 from the field in 33 minutes of play.

DeRozan, now in his 15th NBA season (third with the Bulls), is coming off a year where he averaged 24.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, shooting at a 50.4% field goal rate and 32.4% from three-point range in 74 regular season games.
The Bulls finished as the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-42 record and were eliminated by the Miami Heat in their second play-in tournament game.
Their next game is set for Friday evening, where they will host Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets at the United Center in Illinois.
DeRozan has previously played for the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and the Chicago Bulls, maintaining career averages of 21.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest.
