LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers sign a massive contract extension, making him the highest-paid player in NBA history. The two-year agreement, according to the 37-year-old management company, Klutch Sports Group, was for 97.1 million dollars (£80.6 million).
Klutch’s official account, on Twitter, in a post said: “Congrats @KingJames on your 2-year 97.1M dollar extension and becoming the highest paid player in the history of the NBA!”

James’s career guaranteed earnings will surpass Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant with the agreement, reaching 532 million dollars (£441.6 million).
2018 saw James switch from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Lakers. He won his fourth championship when the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. This is the second time LeBron James signs a contract extension with the Lakers.
