Who Scored the Most Points in the NBA in the 1980s

Who Scored the Most Points in the NBA in the 1980s? Basketball has a huge and extensive history throughout the ages and all-time greats have registered their own records in the history books.

If I am not wrong, the Basketball game suffered a lot of scandals and worst behavior on and off the court from players that eventually damaged its reputation. Basketball was on the verge of no longer existing after the dark ages during the 1970s. However, a few future superstars and basketball greats entered the league to give it a quick turnaround from all the odds.
The rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, which dated back to their time in college, was the fuel that started the turnaround. After that Michael Jordan, the greatest player to ever play the game arrived shortly.
NBA fans and the media both pay close attention to the stars of the 1980s. But what about the other guys? What about those who competed with these superstars and presented them with the difficult times they overcame? There were some major players who missed out on championships for being underrated or didn’t gain as much fame as other notable players.
We are going to shed some light on the player who scored the most points in the 1980s to rejuvenate the game.

Alex English scored the most points in the NBA

Star player Alex English ranks first in the list of players who scored the most points in the NBA during the 1980s. NBA fans have recently begun to realize how excellent Alex English was in the 1980s. Even with the recent acknowledgment, the love for him is still insufficient, but we are making progress. English had 25,613 points by the end of his career, making him the most prolific scorer of the decade. In the 1980s, the Nuggets experienced arguably their greatest run of team success when he led them to 9 consecutive appearances in the playoffs.
English scored the most total points of the entire 80s decade. He was above and beyond the notable NBA stars of that time; Bird, Magic, and Michael. He represented Denver in 8 consecutive All-Star games and scored more than 23 points per game 9 years in a row. English averaged 26.9 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 4.9 APG, and 1.1 SPG from 1981 through 189, winning 1 scoring title in the process. Alex English has to be mentioned a lot more frequently when discussing the greatest scorers in the history of the game.
The soft-spoken Englishman never talked about his skills or tried to bring focus to his accomplishments; instead, he allowed his on-court performances to do the talking. English was never a favorite of the media, but those in the know were well aware of his supremacy.
While Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Julius Erving received the most of the spotlight during this time, English quietly grabbed one of the NBA’s most spectacular playing records.

Stats:

Championships: 0
Career Stats: 21.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 3.6 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.7 BPG
Career Achievements: 8x All-Star, 3x All-NBA Team Selection

There are many other players in the league history who never demanded recognition for being the greatest players so let me do it for them. These players actually drove the league forward. They were essential to team success in every sense of the word. Unfortunately, not everyone has the ability to overcome their prejudice towards recent events in order to fully appreciate what basketball’s former greats have contributed to the sport.
We will keep on highlighting the legacy of other players too in our upcoming blogs. Stay connected folks!
