On Saturday, the Grizzlies revealed the signing of Japanese guard Yuki Kawamura for the team. Standing at 5-foot-8, Kawamura displayed potential in the preseason, with an average of 3.4 points and 4.2 assists in 15.1 minutes per game. After Derrick Rose retired, the Grizzlies needed to fill a spot on their roster. They transitioned Scotty Pippen Jr. from a two-way contract to a standard deal, freeing up a new two-way slot.
