ESPN’s Kendra Andrews reported on Wednesday, citing sources, that the Warriors are holding tight to their younger assets. “The Warriors are holding high value in their younger pieces, sources told ESPN, including Podziemski and fourth-year forward Jonathan Kuminga,” Andrews wrote. “Any trade incorporating either player would have to help with the long-term success of the team more than they would.”
The Utah Jazz reportedly approached Golden State with a trade proposition involving Lauri Markkanen, asking for Podziemski and multiple draft picks in return. However, the Warriors deemed this a “bad deal,” leading to the trade talks losing momentum. With Markkanen now off the market after signing a massive five-year, $238 million contract extension with Utah, the possibility of landing him this season has been eliminated.
