The New York Knicks have officially signed Kevin McCullar Jr., their 2024 second-round draft pick, to a two-way contract. McCullar, 23, was chosen by the Knicks with the 56th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, a selection acquired through a trade with the Phoenix Suns.
During his final season at Kansas, Kevin McCullar Jr showcased his scoring ability, averaging a career-high 18.3 points per game. Despite this impressive performance, he was unable to participate in the Knicks’ Summer League games as he was still recovering from a bone bruise in his knee, an injury he sustained while playing for the Jayhawks.
Standing at 6-foot-7, McCullar adds size and versatility to the Knicks’ roster. He joins Ariel Hukporti, another second-round pick, as the team’s two-way contract players. The Knicks still have one more two-way contract slot available, offering them flexibility as they continue to shape their roster.
McCullar’s signing reflects the Knicks’ strategy of developing young talent while maintaining roster flexibility as they prepare for the upcoming season.
