This bitterness was evident last year when Green took pleasure in the Celtics’ Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. “But I must say, it did not hurt me to watch the Boston Celtics fans suffer,” Green said in a previous podcast episode. “Those people were really rude to me last year, and I like to see them suffer. Quite frankly, for the second year in a row in a big close-out game, the Boston fans suffer.”

During the 2022 NBA Finals, Boston fans were notorious for chanting curses at Green, and some even wore shirts with insults directed at him.
