In the latest chapter of NBA history, Draymond Green, the igniting spark of the Warriors-Heat rivalry, once again found himself in the spotlight for his court behavior. Green got entangled in a heated confrontation with Heat player Patty Mills in the first quarter that led to his name being in the referee’s book.
The Incident
During the course of Heat chasing the points, Green who was called to make a clear out against Parker made a senseless move by grabbing Mills by the neck and pulling him backward. Despite Green’s argument that he was trying to free himself from being held down by Mills and not attempt any kind of flagrant foul, the officials ruled that it was just a common foul.

Due to the court heat and earlier incidents that were related to suspensions, Green’s conduct has turned out to be under even more attention. Beforehand in the season he was suspended twice, notting five games for separation in one, the first involved Rudy Gobert and the second was against Jusuf Nurkić. These games have led to a pattern of a behaviour that tends to attract an irreconcilable opinion about Green.

The recent controversy involving Mills is just another example include the media’s catch and release plan with Green. As one of the regular guys in the Warriors team, Draymond Green has been consistent with his game and the way he usually acts but the circumstances he has been involved with have put him in light that might be of concern about his behavior and its impression on the game.
Being Draymond Green, the controversy generated around his style is not easy top pass by, as he keeps facing questions on how long he will be able to make an impression by convincing the audience that he has a play within the bounds of the law. Whether his overly competitive mindset can be considered aggressive play or not does, actually, generate a dilemma with spectators referring to it, as they wonder where the line between aggressive play and unsportsmanlike conduct should be taken.
